2. Measure carefully — glass is custom. Glass shower doors are typically custom-cut to your specific opening. Wrong measurements mean expensive remake. Most retailers require precise measurements before fabrication; some offer measurement service for a fee.
3. Two-person minimum for install. Glass panels weigh 50-100 lbs. Awkward to handle alone. Two people minimum, ideally three for larger panels.

Step-by-step instructions
Measure the opening precisely
Measure width at top, middle, and bottom of opening (showers aren't always square).
Measure height from curb (or floor) to where door will end.
Provide measurements to fabricator. They'll cut glass and provide install hardware.
Mark track or hinge positions
Hold the bottom track or wall channel at the planned position. Use a level to verify horizontal/vertical.
Mark mounting hole locations through the track's holes.
Drill carefully through tile
Apply painter's tape over each marked hole.
Drill at low speed with glass-and-tile bit, light pressure, water cooling. Once through tile, switch to standard bit for the substrate.
Insert snaptoggle bolts or matching wall anchors as the kit specifies.
Install bottom track and side wall channels
Drive screws through track and channels into anchors.
Apply silicone bead under track before mounting — seals against shower water finding the wall behind.
Wipe excess silicone immediately.
Lift glass into position
With helpers, lift glass panels into the bottom track and against side channels.
For sliding doors: panels slide into track from one end.
For pivot doors: align with hinges and lower panel onto pivot pins.
Move slowly and keep panel level — twisting causes glass to bind or break.
Install top guide or header
Most doors have a top guide (sliders) or no top header (pivots). For sliders, install the top guide that holds the door's top edge.
Tighten all hardware per kit's specifications.
Apply silicone seal
Run a bead of clear silicone caulk along all glass-to-track and glass-to-wall joints from inside the shower.
Smooth with wet finger.
Let cure 24 hours before using shower.
Test operation and fit
