Every neighbourhood renovates a little differently — the age of the housing stock, whether a home is on municipal or private servicing, and local permit considerations all shape how a project is planned. Below is genuine, ground-level context for the areas we serve most.
Kanata
Much of Kanata's housing stock is newer — Kanata Lakes, Bridlewood and Morgan's Grove filled in through the 1990s and 2000s — so work here leans toward finishing builder-basic basements, kitchen updates and home offices for the tech corridor. Toward the rural fringe near Carp, some properties run on private well and septic rather than municipal services, which we factor into any plumbing-heavy scope.

Some streets fall within or near heritage conservation districts, so exterior changes and additions can trigger a heritage review on top of a standard building permit — something we plan for up front. Manotick is a village on the Rideau River south of the city, with larger rural and estate lots. Many properties are on private well and septic, and some sit within the Rideau River floodplain, both of which affect additions, basement work and permitting. Do you renovate rural properties on private well and septic?
Yes. Parts of Kanata, Manotick and the city's rural fringe are on private well and septic rather than municipal services, which affects how we plan bathroom, kitchen and basement plumbing. We account for those systems during design so the scope and permit application reflect the property's real servicing.
Can you handle heritage or infill permits in older neighbourhoods like the Glebe and Westboro?
Yes. Older inner-city neighbourhoods such as the Glebe and Westboro include streets in or near heritage conservation districts, where exterior changes and additions can require a heritage review in addition to a standard building permit. As a BCIN-certified design-build firm we plan for that review up front so approvals move smoothly.
Do you finish builder basements in Barrhaven and Stittsville?
Yes. Many newer homes in Barrhaven and Stittsville come with an unfinished basement, and finishing it into a legal bedroom, bathroom or rec room is one of our most common projects. We design to Ontario Building Code egress-window and ceiling-height requirements and carry a 1-year workmanship warranty on the work.
