Monday mornings start at 6:45 in the Ottawa office. Moe makes the first pot of coffee. By 7:15 everyone knows which crew is heading to which Ottawa site, who's dealing with a tricky permit review that day, and who needs backup on drywall. By 8 AM the trucks are rolling, including Westboro addition, Orleans accessible bathroom, Kanata coach home, Alta Vista basement. Twelve projects at once is a normal Monday for us.
Claude runs custom cabinetry out of the shop. Matt handles project management for most residential work. Several of the carpenters have been with Dream Touch since 2008. Our senior site foreman, who we won't embarrass by naming, has a running bet with the apprentices about who can find the oldest building code violation behind a wall. So far he's winning. Everyone contributes opinions at Monday meetings, regardless of title. Some opinions are better than others.
Around 11 AM, Tuesdays and Thursdays, someone does a Tim Hortons run. It's an unofficial rotation that nobody actually tracks but everyone remembers who went last time. We eat lunch at the office when we can. Conversations during lunch range from serious project coordination to arguments about the best Ottawa shawarma. There's also a dog (Moe's) who thinks she's on payroll. She might be.
Fridays end with a walk-through of the week: what went well, what didn't, what needs to change next week. The team knows where we fell short that week. We tell clients about it too, when they ask. Nobody pretends renovations are simple. They're not. But they're more enjoyable when the people doing them actually like each other. Which is why we're still here, twenty years in.

Founder & Principal
Started Dream Touch in 2005 wanting more straightforward conversations and fewer surprises in Ottawa renovation. Still runs site visits, answers his cell, knows most clients by first name. General contracting across residential and commercial. Lives in Nepean with his family and the aforementioned dog.
General contractor since 2005 · oversees BCIN Schedule 1 permit design · fully insured.
Head of Custom Cabinetry
Runs Dream Touch's custom cabinetry shop. Kitchen, bathroom vanity, and built-in millwork in many of our featured projects are his work. Old-school craftsman who learned cabinetry from his father. The only person in the shop who reads the instruction manual before assembly. Also the best at identifying veneer wood species by sight.

Head of Project Management
Runs project management for most Dream Touch residential work. Matt is the person most clients deal with day to day: schedules, site coordination, trades, and the weekly updates that keep an Ottawa renovation predictable. On-site across the city every week.
Coordinates permits, trades, and inspections across Ottawa · your main point of contact on site.
Renovation crews turn over constantly in this industry. Ours don't. Not an accident: fair pay, consistent work, and treating people with the respect we want them to show clients. The longest-tenured crew member has been here since 2008. Still shows up on time.
